Alfred A. Stanzer 94, of Naples, Florida, passed away on December 21,2022. He lived in Discovery Village of Naples, Florida for the last 16 months and previously resided in Gastonia, NC and Kew Gardens Hills, NY.
Alfred (Al) was born in Penzberg, Germany on July 26,1928. He was the son of the late Alois Stanzer and Maria Stanzer (Karl). He came to the United States in 1949. He joined the US Army in 1950 during the Korean War. After the war he received a degree from the NY School of Interior Design.
The majority of his career was working for Royal Globe Insurance Company designing their corporate offices across the United States until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, traveling and gardening. He was a member of The Master Gardeners Group of Gaston County, North Carolina.
He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather (Opa). Alfred is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Brounn Stanzer. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law; Deidre Wren and Alan of Marco Island, Florida, Donna Kurkemelis and Jim of East Rockaway, NY, Danielle Eckrich and Greg of Hockessin, DE, and his grand-children; Brandon, Matthew, Christopher, Joshua and Justin.
