Ann Leuthner (or Annie, as many called her), died on May 26, 2021 at her home in Naples, FL. She was born Sara Ann Merillat, February 18, 1950 in Monmouth, IL. She graduated from Monmouth High School and Monmouth College where she received her Bachelors degree. She also received her Masters Degree from Iona College. Annie was an avid reader. This passion influenced her career in teaching. She taught at Nyack High School in New York and Naples High School in Florida. She had recently begun tutoring at the Boys and Girls Club in Naples.

Annie is remembered for her quirky sense of humor and love and care for the people in her life. She loved more than anything being with her family when she could. She is survived by her son Steven Leuthner and wife Jennifer; two grandsons, Steven and Cole Leuthner; her brother Rick Merillat; her sister Kris Castle; her brother Greg Merillat; her niece Jane Stover; nephews Andy Merillat, Sean Castle and Darren Castle, and two great nieces, Sara Underwood and Stephanie Taylor.
