Obituary for Brian D Seeley
Brian David Seeley, 50, of Chicago IL passed away on January 1, 2023 in Ochopee, Florida (Everglades National Park.)
Brian was born in Cleveland, OH to Allan and June Seeley on August 21, 1972. From childhood and throughout his life he fostered a love and respect for all living things. He was a devoted pet owner and sitter, a grower of plants, and a strict vegetarian. A lover of music, he played bass guitar in a few local Chicago bands in his younger days.
Brian received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign in 1996 and then worked in the life sciences field for many years. In 2010, Brian transitioned to a more fulfilling path for him which focused on healing and fitness. He became a certified massage therapist and Tai Chi instructor, sharing his knowledge of body mechanics and structure to promote a greater physical and mental health in his devoted students and clients, a community he truly cared about.
Brian is survived by his wife Michelle Seeley, father Allen Seeley, brother and sisters Jo Druffel (Tim), Jill, Jeri Rudy (Dennis), Michael (Holly), Janet Wheet (David) and nieces and nephews Kurt, Matthew and Jack Druffel, Megan and Kaitlin Rudy, Jeremiah Poff, Sara Jo Crane and Amanda, Bailey and Noah Wheet. He is preceded in death by his mother June Seeley, and brothers Ryan and Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, Brian would love to be remembered by way of a memorial donation made to an animal rescue organization or sanctuary of your choice.
