Obituary for Chip Michel

Chip Michel transitioned to “the other side” on May 16th, 2021 at 12:33pm.

Born to Howard “Mike” Michel Jr. and Mary Lee Michel in Baltimore, MD on January 8th, 1953, Chip was preceded in death by his sister Leigh Ann and his father Mike, and is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy, his son, Timmy, his mother, Mary Lee, his sister Diane (Pat) and his two beloved-dogs, Annie & Oakleigh.

Growing up in the Baltimore and Pennsylvania areas, as an avid Orioles, Colts & Bullets fan, Chip was often the life of social gatherings with his friends and family. Chip met his “soulmate”, Cindy, in 1989 while vacationing in South Florida. By 1990, Chip and Cindy were married and moved back to start their family in Naples.

Chip served the Naples area as a general contractor and baseball coach with North Naples Little League during the 1990s and early-2000s - touching many lives along the way. He also spent time assisting the Barron Collier High School baseball program, where his son played ball and graduated in 2010.

Chip loved sports, spending time with his dogs, grilling and traveling with his wife & son.

May Chip’s life serve as a beacon of inspiration to those struggling through illness. He battled the evils of cancer for over 20 years to remain with his family for as long as physically possible.

In lieu of flowers: please send donations in the name of Chip Michel to Avow Hospice of Naples and St Jude Children’s Hospital.
