Obituary for Claude Salaun

Claude J. Salaun, 62, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, May 27th in Hope Hospice from complications of MS.

Claude was born in NY, NY to Pierre and Yvette Salaun on October 30, 1959. He went to high school at Harrison High School and graduated in 1977. He worked in the hospitality industry since he was 14. He spent many years at Westchester Country Club, then moved to Bonita Springs in 1990 to open Audubon Country Club as Food & Beverage Director. Before his diagnosis of MS 18 years ago, he was an avid golfer. Enjoying many rounds of golf with all his good friends.

Claude is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Becky Salaun and his pride and joy -son Claude Michael, of Bonita Springs. Sister Yveline and husband Mark Reisner, and all his wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was always grateful for his childhood friends, and his friends at Doc’s Beach House and Sneaky Pete’s. His humor and laughter will be missed by all.

Per Claude’s wishes no memorial service is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date here in Bonita Springs and in Harrison, NY.

If I should die before the rest of you,
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone.
Nor, when I’m gone, speak in a Sunday voice,
But be the usual selves that I have known.
Weep if you must,
Parting is hell.
But life goes on,
So sing as well
- Joyce Grenfell
