Obituary for Clifford C. Faust

Clifford Charles Faust, 91 yrs old of Naples, FL, (formerly of Riverside, IL), passed away comfortably and on his own terms on January 8, 2021 in Naples.

His children will spread ashes per his wishes and install a memorial and plaque at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside IL, next to his beloved wife, Rochelle (Damore) Faust.

Cliff was born on 12/21/1929, and grew up on his family farm in Westboro, Wisconsin, son to Charles and Francis (Shamberg) Faust. Growing up, he felt there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish. He served in the US Navy, where he peeled his share of potatoes and then used his GI bill to attain his electrical engineering degree from Northwestern University. Upon graduation, he worked as a plastics engineer at Union Carbide before founding Stericon, Inc. and later STC Biomanufacturing with his son, Greg. He had a number of medical patents in his name, and was instrumental in developing technology in the bio-medical field, working side-by-side with many doctors to develop new and better products for our world.

His passions included GOLF as a member of Riverside Golf Club and Foxfire Country Club, and he participated yearly in the Desert Inn Gold Cup tournament in Las Vegas, TRAVEL including epic trips to Africa, Alaska, and Italy, INTEGRATIVE WELLNESS included alternative medicine such as DMSO, outwitting the STOCK MARKET, MUSIC as both listener and creator, and spending quality time with FAMILY. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his marriage to Rochelle, he composed and performed “Still in Love with You” as the highlight of a family cruise through the Caribbean.

Cliff is survived by his sister, Bernice Karpiak; children, Karen and her husband Mike Goins; Greg Faust and his wife Susan; Robert Faust and his partner Nick Cave, grandchildren, Alex Eaton and his fiancé Christy Tames, Melissa and her husband Tim Girolamo, Andrew Faust and his wife Jessica, Matthew Faust, Dominic Faust and Lucia Faust, and great-grandchildren Grayson and Kennadi Girolamo.

He is preceded in death by Rochelle (wife), Francis Faust (mother), Peter Faust (father), and siblings Jerome Faust (brother), and Charlotte (Faust) Hauger (sister).

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Avow Hospice, to whom the family wishes to extend their gratitude.

He was a man to be remembered for having a kind heart, a fierce mind, a joyful spirit, and a zest for laughter and living life. He would light up the room each time he was called up to sing with Jebry and Friends Jazz Band and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

If you have a memory or story about Cliff you would like to share, the family asks that you send it to Greg at gfaust845@att.net by February 1, 2021, so it can be read and included as part of his memorial crypt celebration.
