Obituary for David Victor Eberhardt
David Victor Eberhardt, 87, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023, at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Dave was born in Irwin, Pennsylvania on November 13, 1935. After completing high school in Irwin, PA, he continued on to College at Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical Engineering. Dave then worked as an Engineer for Rohm and Haas, a Subsidiary of Dow Chemical, for 30 years. Dave enjoyed spending time collecting antiques and keepsakes. He was a fierce component when playing Rummikub with friends, which he enjoyed very much. Dave also enjoyed working in his yard, maintaining pristine landscaping, and caring for their collection of many beautiful plants.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Paula Castallo, a son, David Eberhardt Jr. and daughter, Leslie Eberhardt and Grandson, Connor Eberhardt. Stepson, Mario Castallo and Stepdaughter Jodi Castallo. Step Grandchildren, Sofia and Jake Castallo and Sidney Saywell. Dave’s Step Grandchildren called him Pops. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Frank Eberhardt and brother Edward Eberhardt.
Dave will be cremated and per his wishes there will be no Memorial Service. Memorial donations may be made to: Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908. Dave’s wife Paula, wishes to extend her gratitude to Hope Hospice for the loving care provided to Dave and the support extended to her.
