Obituary for Evelyn M Alf
Evelyn Alf, age 93, passed away peacefully August 6, 2022, in Naples, FL after an extended illness. Born in Sheboygan, WI, November 20, 1928, Ev was the oldest of 10 siblings raised in Marshfield, WI. There she married her high school love, Alfred Alf, on September 1, 1951. Together they raised their three children Thomas, Patti and Bob. Al’s long career with Oscar Mayer led them to meet many wonderful friends in Madison, WI, Park Ridge, IL and Bettendorf, IA before retiring to Naples, FL in 1989. They especially enjoyed golfing, dancing and sharing meals with many new friends at Countryside, Vineyards and Cypress Woods golf communities.
Evelyn and Al are survived by three children: son Robert Alf (Paul) of St. Paul, MN; daughter Patti McGee (Dennis) of Greenville, NC; son Tom Alf (Karen) of St. Paul, MN. They loved visits with grandchildren Max McGee, Mike McGee, David Alf, Elizabeth Alf-Young (Scott) and two great-grandchildren Lucas Young and Peter Young.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gudar and Griswold Home Care, especially Jennifer and Rosemarie, during the final years of Ev’s life. Visits from so many friends and relatives, including Ev’s brother Jack and sister Marian, brightened her days. We also wish to thank Solaris Imperial and finally Avow Hospice for providing end of life comfort and care during Ev’s last few weeks.
A memorial mass will be held at St. William Catholic Church on Seagate Dr. on September 17 at 11am. All are welcome to join the family after mass in the church hall. A private family good-bye will be held at Palm Royale mausoleum on Vanderbilt Dr. Contributions can be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
