Obituary for Gary Lee Garrison

Gary Lee Garrison, 70, a loving father, longtime resident, and serial entrepreneur, of Naples, Florida, passed away early Sunday morning, October 16th, 2022, peacefully in his sleep. He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley, and his mother, Charlotte. Gary is survived by his son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Jane, and his two cats, Pumpkin and Snowball (S%&t Head).

He was as a man in the service of his fellow men. He was a man of unshakable conviction. He was a man of integrity and honor. Not to mention all animals on this planet approved him without reservation, but most especially all the cats and the dogs he ever had the occasion to meet open-handed with endless treats.

Gary was born in the frigid north of Dayton, Ohio, to Naomi and Wesley Garrison on September 12th, 1952. He graduated an athlete, a class clown, and overall loved persona, of West Carlton High School. He worked his way into the electrical/audio trade industries in the footsteps of his father. It was only a matter of time before Gary’s dreams of warm weather, white sand beaches, and do we dare say more would come true. He ended up heading south with his newly born son Christopher Lee Garrison to the beautiful state of Florida where he further found his roots and started his business in the smart home tech industry. Gary was consistently seen all over Naples participating in many of his son’s school and sports activities, working on some of the most advanced homes in the market, and just enjoying some solo time on his kayak at Wiggins Pass.

He then retired from his respected industries to peruse a passion of hobby and service to build a place of community and safety. Gary’s final venture was opening 75th Bunker and Morgan Firearms with his partner and longtime friend, Kevin Morgan, in Bonita Springs, Florida. This became more than a local gun shop; it became his place of happiness and sense of being. Not just a second home for him and others, but a meeting place for friends, neighbors, service men, veterans, and locals, bringing in a feeling of community.

A Funeral service was held privately by the family on October 25th, 2022, and he was cremated on October 26th, 2022. With respects to Gary’s wishes he will remain at 75th Bunker and Morgan Firearms in Bonita Springs, Florida, where you can visit, pay your respects, and maybe leave a challenge coin for him anytime.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Rescue 22 Foundation at https://www.rescue22foundation.org. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who supported and helped Gary this past year, especially Henry who brought daily joy to his life.
