Obituary for Gloria Ann Marsella

Gloria A Marsella, of Estoro, Fl, and formerly from North Kingstown, RI, died peacefully on December 30,2020 in the care of Hospice after a long illness. Born in Providence on June 13,1942 she was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Clementina Marsella as well as her siblings John Marsella, Ida Davis and Phyllis Gerundio and their respective spouses. She was also predeceased by her son Wayne Wholshlegel . Gloria is survived by her son David Wolslegel and his husband Michael Bordonaro of Lincoln, RI and her daughter Karen Rugg, and her husband Charles Rugg III of North Kingstown as well as her grandsons Evan and Andrew Rugg. Gloria was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and close friends from Rhode Island and in Estero, Florida.

Gloria loved the Lord and sunshine more than anything, moving to Florida to enjoy her last years there. She attended worship services at Christ Church in East Greenwich, RI and the Estoro United Methodist Church in Estoro, FL. She enjoyed music and was a member of a large chorus group in Rhode Island called the Rhode Island Sound. She traveled and competed with this group and made many lasting friendships there. She enjoyed reading and gathering with her Book Club while living in RI and enjoyed attending outdoor music concerts in town. She will also be remembered for her fierce will and sense of independence, her ability to collect things and her driving skills. She enjoyed the companionship of new friends in Estero and gathering for pot luck events and conversation. Gloria enjoyed many jobs working in human resources and payroll services, retiring from her last job at the Town of Smithfield, RI.
