Obituary for Isabelle "Izzy" Franklin Dudley

Isabelle "Izzy" Franklin Dudley passed away on December 24, 2020 at home in Naples, FL with her husband, Dale at her side. Isabelle suffered from a chronic medical condition which she had bravely fought for many years.

Izzy was born in Bombay, India to William & Florence Franklin in 1956. Her early years were spent in a Catholic convent in Bombay which surely helped shape her philosophy of love, benevolence and compassion for her fellow man. Her charity was unconditional and well known by all who knew her.

She studied law at National University in Bombay and worked as a secretary to pay her way. She later moved to Dubai, U.A.E. for employment where she went to work for Emirates Airlines. There she met Dale and their relationship grew until Dale decided to retire from overseas work and settled in Hawaii. Retirement lasted a few months until he called Isabelle in Dubai and asked for her hand in marriage. Izzy and Dale were married in Hawaii in 1991 where together they owned and ran sign and engraving businesses.

Over the years in Hawaii, Izzys' medical condition gradually deteriorated so she and Dale sold the businesses and moved to Georgia in 2014 and then to Florida in 2018.

Izzy loved to cook and sew and became very proficient in both. She especially loved quiltmaking.

Isabelle is survived by her husband, Dale of Naples, FL; sister Zina Williams, of Mumbai, India; nephews (4); nieces (4); great-nephews (4); great-nieces (5);

and Daffy, her favorite community pond muscovy duck who she fed faithfully albeit illegally.

Isabelle wished to be cremated and her ashes spread from “a high place". An on-line memorial is planned for a later date to fulfill her wishes.

She will be greatly missed by all of those that knew and loved her.

Celebrate Isabelles' life by donating to her favorite charities, Samaritan’s Purse or Wounded Warriors in her name.
