Obituary for Jacqueline Marie (Capaldi) Giuttari

Jacqueline Marie (Capaldi) Giuttari, 85, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 03,2021; surrounded by her loving family. She moved to Naples in 2000, from Cranston, Rhode Island.

Jackie was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Augusta Achando Capaldi and Edward Frances Capaldi. She graduated from Pawtucket West High School and went on to earn a certification from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She loved working as a secretary and office manager, and later became a licensed Realtor in Rhode Island.

Jackie enjoyed staying active with tennis and yoga. She was a member of the Naples Civitan Club for many years supporting the developmentally disabled, local foster children, and local food pantries, among other charities.

Jackie is survived by her five loving children:
Michael Giuttari and his wife Heather, Debra Giuttari Andersen, Lisa Giuttari, Joseph Giuttari and his wife Kristine, and Lori Giuttari.

She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren: Ian, Zachary, Michaela, and Matthew Giuttari; Kimberly Andersen; Christina Norris and her husband Major William Norris, Stephanie Bethea, Nicholas, and Alexander Gardiner; Jacqueline and Jenna Giuttari; and Alexandra and Jordan Bicki; and her great-grandchild Gregory Norris, with another great-grandchild due in June 2021. She is also survived by her loving sister Edwina (Capaldi) Sullivan and her nieces and nephews, Daniel, Shauneen, and Jason; and Nathan, Aidan, and Isabelle Giuttari.

Jackie spent her early married years, starting a family in Colombia, South America. Her husband’s work brought them there. They then returned to Cumberland, Rhode Island and raised their five children. Her children want everyone to know that they’ve shared thousands of beautiful and funny stories, all with Mom/Nana front and center. Her laugh was contagious, and she laughed and loved a lot!

She is famous (and often imitated by her grandchildren) for saying, “Oh, for heaven’s sake!” after listening to their stories.

Jackie wanted to be remembered for always putting her children first.

In lieu of flowers or cards, Jackie asked that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Vitas Healthcare team in Naples, Florida.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be a service at St. John the Evangelist, Naples, FL on Monday, May 10th, @ 10 am.

I’M FREE

Don’t greive for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path God has laid, you see. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don’t lengthen it now with undo grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.

God wanted me now; He set me free!
