John Daniels O’Brien of Naples, FL passed away at Physicians Regional of natural causes on November 2nd, 2022 with family at his side. John was a Minnesota native who moved with his late wife, Odessa and their children to Naples in 1982.

John was born to James and Esther O’Brien in 1933 in Saint Paul, MN, graduated from Cretin before going on to Saint Mary’s University of Winona and Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He bought his first bank in Askov, MN, then expanded across the state, piloting his own plane to work. Once their children graduated from NHS, John and Odessa returned to summering in MN at White Bear Lake. They were avid bridge players and international travelers.

John is survived by his children, Kevin O’Brien (Shana Douglas) of Naples, James J. O’Brien (Tina Bartheidel) of Sandstone, MN, Jeanne O’Brien Ebiri (Bilge) and one grandchild, Errol Ebiri of NYC; his late brother, Dr. Bruce O’Brien’s children, Kelly O’Brien, Shawn O’Brien, Patrick O’Brien, and their families, of MN; and his late cousin, Dick Wheeler’s family of MN.
