Obituary for Joseph Maynard Eastman
It is with gratitude that we reflect on the life of Joseph Maynard Eastman (our Ordinary Joe), following his passing on July 5, 2022 at the age of 81. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl; children, Jeanette, Lynne, Matt (Michelle) and Kristen; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Haley, Michaela and Mya; and “granddog,” and furry best friend, Jack.
Joe was a proud University of Minnesota alumni and passionate Gopher fan. He was an accomplished businessman, holding several human resources and executive coaching leadership positions throughout his career, advocating for values-based leadership. Up through the time of his passing, Joe was on the board of a Minnesota-based manufacturing company.
Most important to Joe were his family and friends. Joe appreciated a shared moment and the simple beauty in everyday life. He thoughtfully contemplated the word and captured his musings in his writing.
