Obituary for Judith Ann Damaske
Judith Ann Damaske of Naples, Florida, passed from this life to the next at home on November 28, 2020, at the age of 80 following a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Richard C. and Eloise P. (Davis) Mahoney.
Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald R. Damaske; children Cindy Colwell, Richard (Kathy) Colwell, Judy Colwell, William (Lubna) Colwell, James (Susana) Colwell; stepsons, Donald M. Damaske, Jeffrey (Leigh) Damaske, Kevin Damaske; sister, Sharon (Thomas) Altmann; brother Rich (Portia)Mahoney; 1 niece, 14 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and 2 great nieces.
Judy was an outstanding student throughout her school years and winner of two academic scholarships. She taught in the Livonia Public Schools until her retirement in 1998. Her passions included quilting, cooking, gardening, singing in the church choir, and serving as secretary of the Drummond Island Lutheran Church on Drummond Island, MI, where she and Don lived for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held on Drummond Island Lutheran Church on December 12, 2020
At ll:00 AM, and at Ascension Lutheran Church in East Lansing, MI, on December 14, 2020 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia, MI.
