Obituary for Kim Marie Montgomery (Williams)

Kim Marie Montgomery, 63, of Bonita Springs, FL, peacefully passed away at 6:55pm on October 17, 2022. Kim was born December 30, 1958 in Peoria, IL, to her two loving parents Burl and Mickey Lee (Lingenfelter) Williams. She married her soulmate and best friend, Terry Allen Montgomery, on August 19, 1978, whom she loved with all her heart. He sadly passed away at the young age of 58 on December 18, 2013. Kim was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Williams.

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished and remembered by family through countless stories and photos captured along the way; Kim is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lee (Ken) Spirewka, and sons James Allen (Natalie) Montgomery of Boyd, MN, and Brett Williams (Courtney) Montgomery of Golden Gate, FL; grandson, James Allen Montgomery Jr, granddaughters, Julia Marie Vlasak and Isabelle Louise Vlasak, of Franklin, WI.

As a youth, Kim was an incredibly strong and resilient person who persevered through the many challenges with which all young mothers are faced. She insisted on putting her three children before anything else and did not hesitate in giving up all the trappings of a young adult’s life. Kim wanted to make certain her beautiful children had all they needed to thrive and succeed from toddlers to teenagers, and then into young adults. She sacrificed everything to this end. She wanted nothing more than for her children’s health and happiness. That was enough. That was Kim….. giving up her own life so that her children could have better and more prosperous lives of their own.

Kim was known for her talents in the kitchen, and while not being a woman of many words, she conveyed her love through the language and art of cooking. We became a family around the kitchen table enjoying the wonderful meals that she prepared with love every evening. Kim will forever be remembered for her hearty laugh, warm smile and tender heart. She was always there to share in our laughter and joy… and lend a shoulder or warm hug during our times of sorrow and despair. Her presence has left a lasting impression on all of us. Her spirit will live on in the lives and hearts of all that had the privilege to know and love her.

Kim will be cremated and her remains will be placed by the side of her husband.
