Obituary for Kirk Alan Maxson

On April 30th, Kirk Maxson, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 65 surrounded by family. Kirk was born in South Bend Indiana to parents Joy Drake and Dean Maxson and gained a degree in culinary arts and criminal justice. He joined the Navy soon after high school which he was stationed at Rota Spain after boot camp and was on the USS Canopus Navy ship. His passion was fishing, hunting, and cooking. He meet his wife, Maureen shortly after joining the Navy and married in 1979 and raised two daughters together.

Kirk was known for his infectious laugh and sense of humor, compassion for helping others, generosity, and his cooking (especially his banana bread and quesadillas). He was always giving regardless of if he had anything to give. He was an amazing father and friend and always made the best of whatever situation he was in. Kirk leaves behind a strong family that vow to carry on his legacy and passion for cooking. Kirk leaves behind a loving wife Maureen, two daughters’ Summer and Jennifer, five grandchildren, Damien, Anjel, Jonathan, Nataly, and Connor, two son-in laws, Santos and Greg, that he loved very much, his mother Joy, best friend Carl, two brothers, and a bunch of friends.
