Obituary for Margaret Piano

Margaret (“Marge”) Ann Piano, nee Pinchbeck, treasured mother, grandmother, aunt, and good friend to many, passed away on April 13th, 2023 at the age of 87.

Marge was born on July 6th, 1935, in Peekskill, New York to parents, Frank Pinchbeck and Helen Curry Pinchbeck. She is preceded in death by both parents, her brother, Frank Pinchbeck Jr. and beloved second husband, Jon Piano.

Marge grew up in Yorktown Heights, New York, later raising her own family in Mahwah, New Jersey. She and Jon moved to Spring Lake, New Jersey and bought a second home in Naples, Florida, where they eventually relocated full-time.

Marge had a lifelong love of learning, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Oneonta State College. She taught elementary school and later English to many diverse student groups. She also had a keen sense of fun and adventure. She traveled the world with Jon, dancing and laughing the nights away wherever they went.

Her greatest passion was her family: Son Kent Moreno and wife, Mollie Ravenscroft; Son Scott and wife, Isabel Brochet; Daughter Susana, and husband, Mark Olsson Moreno; Stepdaughter JoAnne Rumsey (deceased) and husband, Chris; Stepson Robert Piano and wife, Sophia; Stepdaughter Karen Dinicola and husband, Patrick; Sister-in-law Jinnie Pinchbeck, nieces Jill Capone and Lisa Collins. Marge especially loved being a grandmother to grandchildren Megan, Ben, Lara, Sophia, Kahla, Kristin, Zachary, Lindsey, Kyle, Aidan, Olivia, and William.

Marge was known for her sharp mind, sense of humor, and enduring friendships.

A celebration of life gathering will be scheduled for the Summer of 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to RIF (Reading is Fundamental).
