It is with profound sadness that the family of Marie Turi announce her peaceful passing on May 10, 2023 at the age of 86.
Marie is survived by her husband Frank, her daughter Tina, son in law Dennis Shelley and her grandsons Jack Francis and Michael Gianni, nieces Cheryl Peloso and Dawn Stawiarski and nephews Benjamin Bullaro, Mark Turi, Carl Turi and Joshua Turi.
She was predeceased by her sister Angela Bullaro, and her parents Marie and Victor Gianni.
Marie was born in Hackensack, NJ, grew up in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Eastside High School. She and her beloved husband Frank would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 1st. In 2014 they relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, to be close to their daughter and her family. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and friend to many. Marie was very social and belonged to many groups in both New Jersey and Florida. Amongst her many hobbies were theater, cards, maj jong, good food and anything that brought people together. She was known for her impeccable taste and attention to detail, whether it was planning a function, decorating a home or choosing which piece of jewelry to wear.
A funeral mass will be held on May 31st at 10am at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane in Fort Myers, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org) in memory of Marie Turi. A Celebration of Life will also be held at Marie's home church, Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes, NJ, in July with details to follow.
