Obituary for Michael Rofrano

Michael Gregory Rofrano, 67, of Naples, FL passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2024 after a brief illness with his family by his side.

Michael was born November 19, 1956 in Oyster Bay, NY. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the 1970’s. Michael worked previously as a hotel manager, but was retired at the time of his death.

Survivors include his nieces, Kerri (Robert) Kopacz and Suzanne (Laurie Evans) Curran, his great-niece Abigail Kopacz, great-nephews Patrick and Aiden Kopacz, and his longtime friend Fern Thompson. He was preceded in death by his husband James Butt, his parents Carlo and Gloria Rofrano, his brother Robert Rofrano and sister Anne Curran.

Michael lived a simple and solitary life, spending much of his time caring for his beloved birds Tully and KC. He enjoyed WaWa coffee, watching the news, and being at home. He loved beanie babies and cherished his well-cared for collection. In his younger years, he enjoyed creative outlets like drawing and painting. He had a kind and generous spirit and a warm and bright smile that will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff at NCH Baker Downtown Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit for their kindness, care, and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
