Obituary for Myron Kent Williams

Myron K. Williams passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, at the age of 91 in Bonita Springs, Florida.

He tenaciously fought cancer for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his family. Myron was born January 20th, 1931, and is survived by his wife, Maudy Williams, (69 years of marriage), their children Sharon (Dan) Webb, Chuck (Lorie) Williams, Bradley (Lori) Williams, six grandchildren and brothers Malcolm and Howard (Eleanor) Williams.

Myron grew up in St. Johns, Michigan, obtained his Doctorate in Ministry and was a minister in the EUB and United Methodist Church for over 40 years serving parishes in Dayton, OH; Ludington, MI; Sodus, MI; Vicksburg, MI; Holt, MI; Hastings, MI; and Wyoming, MI. He believed the Bible was the Word of God, that man was fallible but forgivable. He believed you have to love people to be in the ministry and loved his parishioners.

Church growth has been the theme of his working ministry. To love without condemnation or judgement. To accept others even when there are differences. May we always love and accept others, as Christ has loved us. May the Church always challenge us to grow, to love and to reach into all areas of humanity.

Always quick to wit and make people smile. Myron was a fisherman who beamed with joy and excitement with every fish. He took particular pleasure in fishing with his grandchildren. Winters in Arizona and summers in Michigan. Friends, fishing, feeding the hummingbirds, loving his wife and family. He is missed. He is fishing in heaven now and he may finally try that dynamite lure.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Myron’s memory.
