Obituary for Norman S Adler

Norman Adler, artist, builder, humanitarian, and family man, who was admired and adored for his endless humor, unconditional heart, ability to believe and allow the imagination to create beauty that inspired others. Norman met his beautiful bride, Ilana of 65 years while serving in the Armed Forces. His passion and curiosity led him to work with his father-in-law for eleven years. During the Kennedy Administration, Norman participated in the development through the Inter-American Development Bank in Venezuela. It was the first time private single family homes were available for mortgages. Norman continued building houses and offices in Westchester County, New York, Mexico and Venezuela. Adler later joined Schulman Realty and through his determination, resilience and hard work he became part of the Schulman Realty team. Norman was an innovator transforming corporate campuses integrating art and landscape, via sculpture gardens in White Plains, New York. Norman's passion for art led him to becoming an accomplished sculpture artist. He retired young and enjoyed doing pro bono work for his community. He played an integral role in the creation of the Garden of Remembrance in memory of Holocaust Survivors in White Plains, New York.

One could always find Norman, playing tennis, at the theater, museums, traveling and laughing with family and friends . The twinkle in his eye could light up a room. Norman's legacy continues within the hearts he left behind, his wife Ilana, children, David (Nancy), Daniel (Sally), Susan and Jennifer - along with his sister Jean Stern and granddaughters, Whitney, Erin and Hannah.

The Adler family is so grateful to Arden Courts Lely Palms staff for their caring for Norman as if he was their beloved family member.
