Obituary for Robert Dean Norby
Robert (Bob) D. Norby was born on July 4, 1932, and died at the age of 90 on September 5, 2022. His parents were Fern (nae) Mulvihill and Elmer Norby. Bob was the fifth of eight children. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1950 and went into the National Guard and was drafted into the artillery branch of the army. Sergeant Norby was discharged in 1952 and graduated from Augsburg University in Minneapolis in 1956.
Bob was married three times. First to Carol (nae Hanson) in 1956, until her death in 1991. He was married to Joan Bills from 1993, until her death in 2012. Bob and Joan had moved to Naples, FL, in 2003. Bob was married to Suzanne Choisser of Naples, FL, until his recent death.
Bob was sole owner of First Western Insurance Agency from the late 1960’s to the 1990’s. He was a member of Zuhrah Shriners and Life Member of American Legion.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne, his sister, Clarice Norby Beyer, of Benson, MN, many nieces and nephews, several step-children and step-grandchildren and his beloved dog and namesake, Norbi.
