Cassada
Scott “Randy” Cassada passed away peacefully in his home in Naples, Florida on July 26th, 2022 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born in Richmond, Virginia to Harold and Maida Cassada on September 30th, 1951. Randy attended Edison High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where he met his love and future wife, Barbara, at just 15 years old. After graduating in 1969, he followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, and began working for Nationwide as an insurance agent. He proudly worked for Nationwide Insurance for 43 years. Randy’s love of people and conversation made him the perfect sales agent. His clients knew they could always call him for anything including a really, really long chat!!
Randy loved working on cars, attending Nascar races, hanging with his buddies and anything that involved being with people. Above all, he loved being with his family. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. There was nothing that made him happier than when we were all together as a family.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara; his two children, Patrick (Courtney): Stephanie (Colin); his two sisters, Linda Smith and Ellen Pattisall; his six grandchildren, Rebekah, Joshua, Bailey, Sawyer, Abigail and Colby. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Rick.
The burial will take place at Mount Comfort Cemetery (6600 S Kings Hwy, Alexandria, Virginia 22306) at 9:00am on September 24th, 2022. The funeral service will follow and be held at Mineral Baptist Church (51 Louisa Ave, Mineral, VA 23117) at 1:00pm.
