91 years old from  Marco Island, Florida, Naples, Florida and New Wilmington, Pennsylvania



Beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, businessman, and friend fell asleep on January 8, 2021 at The Beach House in Naples, FL. Steve was born June 26, 1929 in Farrell, PA and graduated in 1948 from Sharpsville High School, PA.

Steve was a very ambitious and hard working man with a good business sense and a passion for carpentry. Steve retired in 1983 as an Insurance Agent for Nationwide Insurance Company. For 33 years, Steve and his wife, Dorothy, operated their successful Agency on the Shenango Valley Freeway in Sharon, PA. Steve, along with his brothers were known for their love of tractors, as well as their stories regarding growing up on a large Dairy Farm in Sharpsville, PA. His dedicated work ethic was a result of the many tasks that he excelled at that were necessary to maintain the Family Farm. He had excellent carpentry skills that he later shared with the Collier County Habitat for Humanity for many years, touching multiple lives to make the world a better place. He was a member of Kedron Lodge F. & A. Masons #389, West Middlesex, PA and the Scottish Rite’s New Castle (PA) Consistory. Steve and his wife Dorothy are lifelong members of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and GAPA in Farrell, PA. Surviving is his wife the former Dorothy Stati whom he married 64 years ago, one brother William S. (Sue) Lefes and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Stelios and Stamatia Xenakis Lefes, a sister, Mary S. Lefes Charlton, a brother, John S. (Kalliope) Lefes, and a sister Anna S. (Anthony) Lefes Topougis.

The family would like to thank Rev. Protopresbyter Dean Nastos, Proistamenos from The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Fort Myers, FL, Bishop Sevastianos of Zela and Anthony Linderman at the St. Katherines Greek Orthodox Church, the most gentle, loving, and caring staff at Avow Hospice and The Beach House Assisted Living Community.
