It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of Thelma (Timmie) McDonald, aged 93. She passed away on June 8, 2022, in Ft. Myers, Florida, surrounded by family.

A long-time resident of Elyria, Ohio, Thelma (nee Neikirk) was born December 7th, 1928, in Republic, Ohio. She married Merle McDonald and they relocated to Elyria, where he started a dental practice and they raised a family of four. She was a devoted wife and mother, a great cook and was always there when she was needed. Timmie was smart, loved organizing the household and social events, and had a great sense of humor. Tired of the cold Ohio winters, Timmie and Merle moved to Bonita Springs, Florida, in 2014.

She will be dearly missed by her husband and best friend of 70 years, Merle; children: Scott (wife Linda), of Elyria; Brian, of Winter Haven, Florida; Kara (husband Timothy Golden), of Elyria; Stacy (husband Stewart Monteith), of Bonita Springs, Florida; granddaughters: Alana (husband Keith Haws) and Kimberly (husband Danny Wasson); great-grandchildren: Celia and Wallace Haws and Wesley Wasson; and sister: Beverly O’Donnell, of Clyde, Ohio.

Her immediate family had a memorial service on June 10th, 2022, in Bonita Springs, Florida, where they celebrated her long and full life. She was very loved and will forever be in their hearts.
